Home for 7 days before next Tour.

Wow. What a trip to Iowa. We left here Wed in time to meet our sis, Tonya and her family in OK. They drove from AL to preach a revival there, and that was only 4 hours from us.  We so enjoyed the visit! They treated us to “Ted's Mexican Food”. The pastor, Bro. JR Alexander paid for our pizza, which was a blessing too. We drove several hundred miles to IA the next day to the Stoltzfus house. This family has adopted us. They pray for us, support us and treat us good. It's folks like this that make the road so much easier and plain FUN!

Some Highlights of our Iowa trip:
The food is always wonderful. Darla fed us Taco Salad, Home Made from scratch Pizza, Ham and all the trimmings, warm Coffee Cake, home Grilled Hamburgers, several different salads and desserts.  When we left, they loaded us up with fresh picked apples, jalapeno peppers, home made granola, calendars, pens, t-shirts, purse screwdrivers and lots of love. We thank you Ivan, Darla and handsome Jordan! One day, we went to the Yoders to eat. Glenda fixed IA home grown grilled pork chops, cheesey potatoes, salad, green beans, & home made apple bars with ice cream. When we left, she loaded us up with sweet home grown onions. Everything fresh out of her garden too!  Linda Osborne and her son met us at the coffee shop in Lamoni and gave us home made bread, hand made butter and cheese. Darla took us out in the country to an Amish grocery store. No lights, no A/C, hand made furniture and goodies for sale. The son was hand mowing with an old fashioned blade mower. Wow.

1995 Eldorado Update:
Our lil car is getting old (like me! LOL) and has almost 100,000 miles on it.  It's been good to us, but it's been acting up a lot lately. You all know about the $2600.00 transmission miracle God did for us, a few weeks back. Well, we need another miracle. When we left TX headed to IA, the car started cutting out terrible. It felt like a bad spark plug to us. We found a dependable mechanic and it was almost $400.00 worth of spark plugs bad! He gave it a tune up and it drove so much better on the way home.  Also, when we left, we knew we had a broken strut on the left rear.  So, I put the heaviest sound equipment on the right side, but by the time we got to IA, we were dragging bottom. Talk about “low riders”! It will cost about $2800.00 to fix it, not the $500.00.  SO, PRAYER WARRIORS...another big prayer request. You all haven't let us down yet. GOD has never let us down.  We keep hoping God will provide a dependable RV, so we don't have to carry all our suitcases in every night to a different motel.  Or at least maybe we should trade for a SUV. We just don't want another payment. The car is paid for.  Pray we'll know God's perfect will.

One of our highlights in IA was a “Buck Out” compliments of Stoltzfus Cattle Company. They train young bulls to buck, & get ready for the PBR. We had our own little Rodeo, complete with bucking bulls, cute cowboys, bull fighters, guts, blood, hamburgers, videos, cameras, and excitement. I really enjoyed it all. On Sat eve, we left Leon and drove 3 hours to Olds, IA to sing at Dove Fellowship the next morning.  That night, we hit a hawk and broke our grill and damaged our license plate.  Thank goodness it didn't come through the windshield. It was late and dark when we got to the church, where they had us a place to sleep. The church was on old converted High school, so it had multiple rooms and flights f stairs.  The bathroom was down 2 flights of stairs and the shower was at the end of that all.  You all know me. I get turned around in my own back yard, so I got in the room and stayed! With the door locked! LOL.

There were windows from top to bottom without curtains or mini blinds, so I had to step out in the hall long enough to dress. Then back n I zipped. It was spooky for this old maid.  No one in IA uses A/C, so we spent most of our time hunting a cool place to roost. Angie found a fan in a room down the hall, and it ad a short in it. I got tickled at her trying to fix the fan just right so it would continue to work. She finally propped it against something and it finished out the night trying to cool us off.  They seemed to love us and fed us meat loaf after church. We even met some more Jenkins's” so we felt right at home. God showed up and we had a good service. They want us to come back next year, so we're taking our fans.......LOL

We pulled into our home church parking lot the other day and the street was filled with cops. They searched the church and had us lock the doors after everyone got there. I think they had a drug bust at a house close by, and one of the suspects got away. Never dull round us!  Our prayers about gas prices are working. We paid only $3.17 for gas at one station!  We plan to leave Tuesday for a weeklong trip to Talladega, Al. We'll be cooking for several days for Jackie Richardson, one of our supporters, at the RV park across the highway from the race track. We work hard, but we enjoy doing it.  We'll leave there and head to do a homecoming for Bro. Kenny Morris.  Looking forward to seeing them again.
We had a wonderful service at Bro. Harley Martin's church. Pastor told us our singing had more “depth” than ever before. We're praising God for the trial that made us deeper in the Lord. Mom went with us and they loved her singing.
Another special surprise, our oldest brother, Larry and his beautiful wife, Linda came to hear us that night. The Lord really helped us and everyone seemed to get blessed.

We fixed a birthday supper for our sister, Judy. She's the one who blessed us with a newer computer/copier. She also gave me more ink, a brand new flash drive, 2 boxes of batteries, some Tyler candles (Love em) gives free tech help, and keeps us supplied in pure Kangen water. Thanks Sis! The Lord is keeping good records and sees your faithfulness. Last Sunday we sang for 1st A/G in Granit, OK. They seem to love us and want us to come back. If they keep feeding us & helping us like that, we will be back, Lord willing! Mom is having a birthday Sept. 30th and we all pitched in and bought her a
.22 rifle. The reason for getting her that gift, she had another snake in her yard. She shot it with a bebe gun, but just made it mad. Animal control came out and took care of it, but we realized Mom needed a bigger gun. She will be 79 and still works all day and talks to the Lord every morning. Happy Birthday to you, Mom, one of our most faithful supporters.
