Nella and Angie Jenkins ~ 11/03/08 ~ Happy Thanksgiving!

Note to those who receive our Printed Newsletter.

Thanks to all of you who have subscribed to our newsletter. You tell me you love it and read each word. I love to hear that! I keep each new subscriber on the printed newsletter mailing list, free, for 3-6 months. If during that time we don't hear from you, I delete your name from the monthly list & move you to the 2X a year list. I hate doing that, but the cost of printing and mailing prevents any other action.

However, email is FREE. So, for monthly news subscribe to: jenkinsandcompany-subscribe@ MyInJesus.com

Cold weather has come much earlier than usual. We love it. Angie & I are both hot natured and love to sleep in cold weather with the windows open. Our nice country air is crisp today.

I love this month and call it the “Thanksgiving month”. I try to be grateful all year long, but this month, I try harder to give special thanks. That's why I've made the newsletter into a 11X14. I have lots to say this time......LOL

We've had more than our share of excitement and vacationing this month. We almost feel guilty for taking some days off, as there is always so much to do. But our Employer, God, arranged it, so we took advantage.

Pictured here: Gayla, Vickie, Angie, Rhonda, Nella, Judy, Sherry and Janan.

In the hills of Oklahoma, our Double cousins, the Kendricks and our family got together for a reunion. They have a lovely cabin in the woods, where it's quiet and peaceful. With around 70 of us there, it wasn't quiet for long. There was visiting, eating, 4 wheeling, eating, and more talking going on all over the place.

Angie and I was singing in the area the following week, so they offered the cabin to save on Motel expense. Like the smart people we are, we took them up on their offer. So, for 6 days, we had a vacation. It felt like the old days when we had paid vacations and Holidays, only better, knowing we're doing the Lord's work too. We sang a total of 4 times in the area.

We slept as late as we wanted, sat outside and drank coffee, reading our bibles and watching the leaves fall. It was beautiful and so relaxing. Sometimes we went walking, read, took naps, then ate some more.

Angie cooked 2 meals a day. Sometimes we found enough energy to drive into town and work an hour on the Library's computers. Then we would go “Poke shopping.” That means poking around in junk stores. We love doing that & found more junk than we could haul home. I buy and resell books, so I'm always looking for bargains. The Librarian gave me 6 big boxes of books. Talk about a bargain! Free is always good. I found 17 books included of my very favorite author, and it made me hyperventilate for a while.

Angie found some antique dishes and other bargains. We bought some Christmas gifts as well, so we were happy campers. We like vacations!

Thanks to the Kendrick girls and their wonderful husbands and families for allowing us this luxury. We'll never forget it. Thank you Lord for giving us the health to enjoy all of our blessings.

November is “Thanksgiving” Month. Misc. news on our recordings.

A big thanks to those who have pre-paid and ordered #17 CD, as yet un-named.

We have heard from Clint our engineer for CD#17. He had some time open and we were already booked, and he was busy when we were not....So it's still not finished.

We have 2 more tours this year then things will settle down for him and us. We still hope to complete this project this winter. Some of you have been waiting for a year and we're so sorry about that.  We have the funds to finish it. Thanks for understanding  and being patient with us.

In the meantime, we're saving for another CD, with a studio closer to us. We hear they have state of the art equipment at Kenneth Copeland's Studio. It's only about 15 min from our house and they have set hours, which will work much easier with our schedule. They charge a pretty penny so we're praying for Sponsors for #19.

Those who have Sponsored/Prepaid for #17 are:

1.JW Alexander (TX)
2.David Baxley
3.Kevin/Jami Blank
4.Pam/Tommy Bradford (NM)

13. Loretta Vavalis (Sponsored both) AK

We'll keep you posted on the progress. I feel it will be worth the wait. Clint will be doing some of the 3rd part harmony and he has an awesome voice. Keep praying for this project and the new one as well.

Gayla turned 49. Rhonda made her a birthday cake

Gayla's grandbaby

We were raised with the Kendrick girls and we were all best friends. There were four of them, all girls and 7 of us, 5 being girls. Their Dad, Uncle Dickie Kendrick, who was killed in a tragic airplane crash at age 33, was my Mother's brother. Their Mother, Aunt Irlene was my Dad's neice, so we were almost double cousins.

Our familes always went deer hunting/camping together and spent most of our time with them. Time has scattered us all, but we've found we still love each other and enjoy the company of close family. They have all pooled together and built a cabin in the woods/hills of Oklahoma. It's big enough for all their family to sleep inside and enough land for us to camp there. Terry & Gayla pulled their 5th wheel up for Mom and 3 of us girls to stay in. So sweet of them!

I know with the Unstable Economy all of you are praying to be wise stewards of your finances. We are too, even more than ever. I was so glad to make some personal money from helping Angie cook at Talladega, AL for the Richardson's.

I was making lists of how much to save for an old truck for us and Mom to use around here for work, how much to use for office supplies ( I gladly fund most of the newsletter expense) and how much to keep for buying Christmas gifts. I was forcefully reminded of something I heard a preacher say.

He said “In this day of shaky economy, the one economy you need to invest in which never shakes or drops, is GOD's.”

I said “Lord, if this is you telling me to give my money to missions and ministries instead, send a worthy ministry across my path.” In a matter of hours, the name was dropped into my lap and I KNEW what I had to do. Thank you Lord for speaking to my heart and making me a cheerful giver. I had to put my money where my faith is.

We are trusting God for several things. Most of all, we need a bigger vehicle, and are believing for one without getting into a big payment.

This need is becoming increasingly urgent. We had to have another coil replaced and another one is now acting up. The car has a total of 4 and we've replaced 2 already. Also, after the 3rd estimate for our struts to be fixed, it's a given the bill will be around $2800.00. Our dash lights are flickering. We haven't figured out what that's all about, but we Know God knows. In His Time..........

Some things God has taken care of: He fixed my favorite printer. It quit, but after prayer, it unexplainably started working.

Our septic tank backed up (cost $225) while we were gone, but God provided Shannon McDonald to be here and help the repairman.

God has lowered the price of gas almost $2.00 per gallon! That's a miracle. I ask Him for $1.00 drop and He's gone above and beyond and doubled the amount I prayed for. God is so good!

We love and depend on you all. We are praying for your needs as well.
